Yvette LeBlanc Gundry, LMHC
I am a Texas native who made Massachusetts home in 2020. Prior to moving to New England, I spent time living in Texas, France, Tunisia, Scotland, and Mexico. I enjoy yoga, painting, running, and spending time outdoors.
I received my undergraduate degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and completed my graduate studies at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts (#12292) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas (#76548). I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
Solas means light in Gaelic. My role as a therapist is to give each client the tools, knowledge, encouragement, and challenge to grow and find light on their path.
She, her, hers
My approach
The foundation of my approach to therapy is honoring each client’s holistic experience, and the belief that therapeutic relationships built with trust, empathy, authenticity, and care can positively affect change and growth in a person’s life. As many mental health struggles are rooted in relational difficulties, I view the therapeutic relationship as the most powerful tool that counselors have for healing.
With compassion and humor, I strive for a collaborative partnership in therapy in which I provide a non judgmental space for each client to explore and process experiences. I utilize a client-centered, psychodynamic, grief & trauma informed approach tailored to each client’s needs, and often incorporate tools such as solution focused, cognitive, creative, and mindfulness-based therapies to empower clients. I specialize in working with adults in the perinatal stage of life, and young adults who are in the undergrad, graduate, and post-grad stages of life, parents of young children, clients dealing with grief or trauma, and clients who are in high stress academic or work environments. In my work with clients I provide information, encouragement, and support to help pave the way for meaningful change.
Solas Counseling is a neurodiversity affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming practice. I welcome individuals of all identities as clients, and where our identities or experiences differ, I hope to be an ally for you in your life.
